Fasten Your Seat Belts for Tokyo 2020

The 2020 Summer Olympics is officially known as the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and locally known as Tokyo 2020. It is an advancing international multi-sport event that is scheduled from 24 July to 9 August 2020.
What’s new in this season?
  • Under new IOC policies that allow sports to be added to the Games' programme. These games will be making their debut in the list: karate, sports climbing, surfing, and skateboarding.

  • After humungous For the Paralympics, two new sports were introduced Badminton and Taekwondo.
  • Baseball and Softball will return to the Olympic programme, after marking a long absence since the 2008 games in Beijing. Baseball and Softball being major sports in Japan, they are capable enough to attract plenty of enthusiastic fans to the stadiums in Fukushima and Yokohama.

  • Coca-Cola proudly becomes presenting partner of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic torch relay.
Globally Olympic partner coca-cola, which has supported Olympic games since 1928, has announced that it will partner the Tokyo 2020 Olympic torch relay through their Japan subordinate. The agreement is designed to leverage Coca-Cola’s experience to aid host an unforgettable and fun Olympic games for enthusiasts and athletes.
  • Innovative “press network” announced for Tokyo 2020 and it will be absolutely free.
The Press for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 brought together the world’s biggest media and press agencies to better understand the media operations during the games. At the event, the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee announced innovative technology infrastructure for the Olympic and Paralympics games. This access to the Press Network will be provided by Tokyo 2020 free of charge for all press representatives, the first time in the history for the Olympic and Paralympics Games. The Press Network will be supported by Free Wi-Fi in all press areas in all venues.
  • Get ready to meet Miraitowa and Society – the smiling, waving mascots charged with building thrill for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics.
The names were revealed as the pair stepped out to a cheering crowd in the Tokyo for the first time. The two characters attempted to make a splash by hopping on a boat cruise to meet local people.
The name of the Olympics mascot, Miraitowa, means future and eternity. Some, the Paralympics mascot, comes from Somei-Yoshino, a type of cherry blossom, “So mighty”.
