The 2020 Summer Olympic is going to be held in Tokyo, Japan. This summer Olympic is officially known as the Games of the XXXII Olympiad, generally known as Tokyo 2020. This international multisport event will span over 17 exciting days, calendarized to be in progress from July 24th to August 9th, 2020. Tokyo was chosen as the host city amid the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires on 7 September 2013. New National Stadium(Tokyo) will serve as the key stadium for the inauguration and ending ceremonies, as well as being the venue for track and field events at the 2020 Summer Olympics as well as 2020 Summer Paralympics. The motto of this game is “Discover Tomorrow” and the 2020 Games Vision is “sport has the power to change the world and our future”
It is expected that more than 11000 athletes from 207 different nations will take part in the Tokyo 2020 games. The games will include 339 events in 33 different sports, enclosing 50 disciplines. The Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee has proposed the incorporation of 18 extra events from the following five games for consideration in the Tokyo 2020 Games: Baseball/Softball, Karate, Skateboarding, Sports Climbing, and Surfing. Alongside the five new sports that will be proposed in Tokyo, there will be fifteen new events within existing games, including 3-on-3 basketball, freestyle BMX and Madison cycling, and new blended events in several sports.

Tokyo 2020 President Yoshiro Mori stated, “The inclusion of the package of new sports will afford young athletes the chance of a lifetime to realize their dreams of competing in the Olympic Games – the world's greatest sporting stage – and inspire them to achieve their best, both in sport and in life.”
The president of the IOC(International Olympic Committee), Thomas Bach said: “The fascinating new events that we approved today, together with the five new sports that were added to the Tokyo 2020 programme last year, represent a step-change in the Olympic programme. I am delighted that the Olympic Games in Tokyo will be more youthful, more urban and will include more women.” The IOC considered a variety of factors while evaluating the proposition, including the impact on gender equality, the youth appeal of the games and the legacy value of adding them to the Tokyo Games.
